Die Notlaufsystem VFI wird in den Reifen von Militär- und Sicherheitsfahrzeugen verbaut. Im Falle eines Reifenschadens begrenzt es die Absenkung des Reifens und ermöglicht es so, den Einsatz zu Ende zu führen. Durch seinen flexiblen Werkstoff werden Stöße während der Fahrt mit luftbefülltem Reifen oder abgesenktem Reifendruck absorbiert, wodurch eine Beschädigung des Reifens von innen durch das Notlaufsystem verhindert wird. Im Notlauf unterstützt der VFI die Lenkfähigkeit und das Bremsverhalten und erlaubt Hindernisüberfahrten. Damit ausgestattet können Fahrzeuge mit Reifenschaden ihre Fahrt auch in schwierigem Gelände fortsetzen. Der VFI ist auch in einer ohne Spezialwerkzeug oder Gerät montierbaren Ausführung erhältlich.
